Importing text files the same way in node (commandline) or webpack (browser) code should be possible but its all a bit confusing with the new ES module system so I had to put my thinking cap on and read through https://nodejs.org/api/module.html#loadurl-context-nextload to work out how exactly to do it.
Seems you need a couple of files to preload the module hooks, one to be imported on the command line so it gets run before anything else tries to import anything and then another one to contain the actual module hooks. I tried using one file, which kinda works but ends up registers the hooks twice which is not good.
I've also synced the pattern test with the one used by raw-loader in webpack.config.cjs so node and webpack should always consider the same files as text.
All the new code is in this commit https://github.com/notshi/seance/commit/e7a541356449c2eb924c98e8f244e21ac46ca73a and you can also see how the imports have replaced readfile hacks.

I've converted my arss from cjs to esm, this commit https://github.com/xriss/arss/commit/044d4e39d28421fc584a0f73d8eda2abeddb8b4a might be useful to look at if you want to do the same.
It's mostly annoying, one thing that is a bit of a gotcha is when switching your package type to module its easiest to rename your webpack.config.js to webpack.config.cjs otherwise trying to get webpack working is a nightmare.
I'm going to go through all my JS code and switch to esm as its nice to have code that will run in browsers rather than just node. This is however a scary one way act, where we must change applications first and libraries last else we will break the applications.
It's a real shame node hasn't make this almost transparent ( async everywhere and just make require work ) but I guess all of the web pack and minimize shenanigans people do with JS is just far too brittle.
How to bring XMAS spirit to home automation.
Do you enjoy shouting at your house to turn lights on and off?
Do you wish this simple act of human machine bonding could be more fun and or themed for the holidays?
Then have I got the solution for you.
First you need to get into the habit of turning lights on by shouting
ON *lightname*
into the darkness.
This is one of the optimal ways to control lights with the ON command coming before the name of the light. It is possible you are already doing this, if not I advise practicing it for a few days.
Once you have accepted this habit as normal the next step is to rename all the lights in your home to the names of reindeer.
Here is a list for reference with sugested location.

There is no other step, by simply making these tiny festive changes you will bring holiday joy to your household and possibly neighborhood.

I know this has the AI word in it, but it looks like generating low poly from a point cloud by constraining it to only using prefab (low poly) parts works rather well.
IE here is a point cloud, solve it using only the building blocks found in Valheim. https://twitter.com/MattNiessner/status/1729295860511437228
